Penneshaw Oval (Penneshaw Town Hall on days with bad weather)

Tha Kangaroo Island Community Market is held on Penneshaw oval the first Sunday of every month. Stallholders travel from all corners of the Island. A wide variety of stalls from homemade soap and candles, wooden toys, driftwood and wooden wares, gifts, photography, clothing new and used, pre loved goods and a whole lot more. Hot and cold food and beverages complete the market experience. All of this with the lovely back drop of sea and coastline.

25 - 27 West End Speed Shears

Parndana Hotel, Parndana

With thousands of dollars of prize money on offer, the Kangaroo Island Speed Shears is Australia’s richest shearing event and will be contested by some of the fastest shearers from Australia and New Zealand. Friday night is the opportunity to meet and greet whilst local wines are auctioned, Saturday is competition day and Sunday holds the Cutout BBQ for lunch - all welcome.

17 & 19 Kangaroo Island Cup Carnival

Spread over two huge days of racing (Friday and Sunday), the Cup is the Island’s biggest party. Attracting spectators and horses from Australia wide, it is fast becoming an iconic event. On track, the racing is first class, while off track the action is just as good with Fashions of the Field always proving popular.
